This morning in church, we were having baby dedications and my pastor was talking about how we are each adopted as his own when we become Christians. This brought back memories of when i was adopted. When i was born, my mother didn't want me so she gave me to the hospital. I was born with Spina Bifida which means "exposed spine and i was considered an "ugly" baby. I had my first surgery when i was a day old to close the whole in my back exposing my spine. I stayed at the hospital till i was 2 years old, then i went to the near by orphanage in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. What i didn't know was that was God was already preparing a family for me to be in on the other side of the world. My mom was on the internet, and she stumbled across an adoption website where i was posted up so that people could see that i needed a home. My mom and dad prayed about it and really wanted a baby sister for there son, Kevin. It was a long time before they got to see me. It took them over a year to get all of the adoption papers settled and the everything ready. Finally, on December 8, 1996, (my birthday :) ) they saw me for the first time and i was adopted! I came to America on December 23.. just in time for Christmas. If it wasn't for the fact that i have this defect, i would not be here because over there, they never give away children unless there is something wrong with them. I am soo blessed to be here and i thank God everyday for the family and country that he has put me in.
