Hi Everyone.

I just want to take a sec and say thank you for all your support and prayers for our team.  We were able to see the Lord move in the DR and be a part of it.  There were a lot of things learned and seen.  The Lord has taught us all more about Him.  Here are some pictures of our time in the DR.

The Last Days of Ministry

So the last few days have been good. The VBS that I asked you to pray fpr in the last update went very well. We presented the gospel and 30 children accepted Christ. Also Last night we had a party for the Children that we ministred to in front of the AIM house we had about 80 kids show up, and a lot of them had never been there before, but our girls quickly pulled together and realized that there were new kids. So Sara preached a salvation message and 20 kids accepted Christ.
We have truly had a great time of ministry in the DR. Today we are going to a local River to swim all day, and out to dinner tonight as part of our Debrief. Our flight leaves at 8:30 on sunday so we must leave San Juan about 8 hours before that, so pray that our trip is safe and that the flights are on time.

Info for Debrief in Atlanta

The teams are arriving home shortly and God used the teams in great ways. It was great reading the updates and watching God at work in their lives and in the lives of those they ministered too.

If you are picking up your son/daughter by car, you can pick them up at the hotel between 8AM and 11AM or at the airport between 8AM and 12PM. Below is the address to the hotel that debrief is conducted.

Debrief is the night before and parents are welcome to attend, but do realize that this is the last time they will be with their team and good-byes are hard for them. We have seen parents come and yes, your child is excited to see you, but they want to be with their team that they bonded with and will not see again. So don’t go into it expecting too much.

Thanks for entrusting your child with our organization. We count it a privilege to have worked with you and your child.

God Bless!

Finishing Up Strong!

Yesterday we started a new VBS in a park here in San Juan, in english the park is called Donkey Park. Yesterday was awesome we had 77 kids attend. Our Vbs is three days long with the theme,  Jesus loves us so...

1) God made you
2) He has a plan for your life
3) He died for you.

Today we were teaching about his plan for for their life, we had about 60 kids attend today. Pray that as we present the gospel to them tomorrow that, we are able to keep them focused, and that we present as clear of a picture of the gospel as possible.

Sunday we were in a village just out side of San Juan, at Hectorīs church (He is our translator)
we were there to share the love of christ and to encourage the other believers that were there. In our VBS that morning we saw 14 come to know Christ. Tia did a great Job of presenting the gospel. Pray for all of the new souls that ave been claimed in our time here, so that they may grow in their faith.

The girls are doing well, they are still growing as a team and have found a really good rhythem for ministry. Pray that we can finish out the week strong and claim many more lives for the Lord.  Thursday will be our last day of ministry here. Friday and Saturday will be fun and cleaning and Debrief. Them we leave for the airport early on sunday morning. Pray that God will keep us safe and that he will accomplish his work in and through our lives.

Grace & Peace,
Shawn Summey

Another Day in San Juan

Since we returned from the mountains early it has taken a couple of days to work out the logistics of ministry. We spent yesterday afternoon in an ATL, which means that we Listened to the Lord and followed his leading into ministry. We also had a private tour of the largest church in the DR. It was awesome. We will be doing VBS and Door to door ministry for the remainder of our time in the DR.  Pray that the lord uses us.

Sorry for such a short blog, but tomorrow is our communication day so the girls will be emailing you.

Thanks for your prayers,
Shawn Summey

Back from the Mountains!

Hey Family,

The Team is doing well, here in the DR. We arrived back in San Juan de la Maguana last night. After two long days of ministry and travel. The first night that we were there we saw 20 people saved at the church service we went to. Yesterday we ran a VBS with abtou 150 children. We are very thankful for our time of ministry  there. Our hearts and prayers are with Pastor Gregorio and his ministry there.

Please continue to pray for the team here for rest and also for the hearts of the people.

Family, please comments for the Girls its really encouraging to hear from you.

Heading to the Mountians.

This week has been a good week.  Through VBS and Door To Door 58 people have come to know the Lord.  It is good to see new brothers and sisters come to know Christ as a savior and friend.  All the girls are doing good.  We are getting ready for the next part of our trip in the Mountians.  We are leaving today.

The past couple of days we have been able to relax and debrief the first part of the trip.  The girls learned to do laundry and now have clean cloths.  We are all excited for what lays ahead for us in the mountian village we will be at for the rest of our trip.  Please continue to pray for us as we are going to be in a different location and ministering to new people.  Pray that we will be able to make relationships and help those who donīt know Him find him and those who do walk closer to him.

A week of ministry

We have been here in the DR ministering for almost a week and have seen the Lord move and have been able to bring His love to the people of San Juan.  The Girls are doing great and are learning new things everyday and diving into ministry.  Below are a couple stories from them about our time here.

"The VBS has been going really well.  We have done it right outside of our front dorr in the middle of the street and at a little church in the town of Mogollon.  The kids are full of excitement and we love playing with them and sharing with them Gods love."

"We got to visit a nursing hom,e and share our love with the folks. A few girls talked to an old blind man, Carlos who was paralyzed on half of his body.  The others played Dominos.  The people that were there were so happy to have visitors.  [The folks who live here are those who their families donīt want to take care of anymore.  The are not loved like they should be.]"
                                                                                                         ----Candace Pifer

"In Door to Door ministry we have been loving  on the people of Mogollon.  During ministry one  day we came across an elderly man who was extremely sick and confined to a wheel chair.  The sight was heartbreaking but we brought the joy of the Lord and prayed over him.  The next day we returned to see his movement had improved and he was saying he was feeling better.  I was extremely encouraged by this answer to prayer.  The man, Hector, and his wife, Ramona, both prayed for salvation through Jesus and it was beautiful.  We passed out the medicine we had brought and left the couple with songs praising God.  I will always remember their smiles and the blessing they were to me.  Pray for  more opportunities to shine love."
                                                                                                          ----Ashley Williams

Please continue to pray for us.  For unity as a team, good rest, safety in travel [Sunday we will be heading ot the mountians for 12 days] and the the Lords love will shine thru us and into the dominicans the we minister to.

With Christs love,
The DR AMB Team leaders.

P.S. The girls all say Hi and that they wish they could blog but know they are all doing good and are loving it here.  We will try to blog as much as we can but it is limited.

Training Camp

Hey Everyone,
We just wanted to show you a little bit about what we have been doing this week. The team has come together very well. We are so excited to see what God had in store for us. The first team builder we did was the Spider's web. It is a maze of string woven through the woods. We had to get through it with a limited number. We began the task blindfolded with Tia as our eyes. The girls all kept great attitudes and we made it through the course in record time.

We also participated in the camp-wide dance-off. We won the first round thanks to Candace's sweet moves but lost in the finals. We were fairly proud of ourselves though because the winners had 27 team members to pull from while we had only 12.

The girls have alos worked very hard learning the drimes that we will be performing in ministry. A Drime is a drama set to music. They have done so well. They learned three in one afternoon on Monday and another one today.

Here are the girls working on the "Dare you to Move" Drime

They all fall here...very realistically might I add.
The girls are all growing in their relationships with God and each other. We have had several really good sessions where God has just moved.
Today we went to an apartment complex to minister. It was awesome to see the girls choose in and go for it. Most of the occupants spoke
Spanish so it was exactly what we will be dealing with when we arrive tomorrow. They did such a great job. They were all practicing their Spanish and talking with the kids and their parents. It was awesome. I am confident that God is going to do great things with this team.
Please continue to pray for the team. They are really tired and our day of travel begins around three tomorrow morning. Pray for rest tonight and energy tomorrow. Thanks for your prayers.
